Lolita Baton!
Here's the questionairre.
What is a baton? It's basically a chain letter where you ask questions for fun.
- (1) I'm WaltzQueen and I'm a Cancer
-
(2) I'm five three, weigh 155, size large with size ten feet. (finding shoes is a nightmare)
-
(3) I saw the anime like every other weeb did and eventually I got enough money to actually do it, years down the line.
-
(4) Gothic and Aristo all the way!
-
(5) The perfect Aristo is a long skirt that's elaborate but not too attention grabbing, ankle boots with beautiful buttons. High collared blouse with lantern sleeves and a handsome brooch nestled in ruffles. Cascading high-do coming out from under a stately hat. That's the dream.
-
(6) No piercings for me!.
-
(7) BPN, Abletage,Atelier Boz, Sheglit, Moi Meme Moitie, MARBLE
-
(8) Favorite is a BPN cutsew. it's so casual but elegant. I feel so cool wearing it. My second favorite is my off brand shirt. It's plain enough to get matched with half my wardrobe without being boring or Office-blouse tier.
-
(9) I am part of a community after many years as a lonelita! No very close friends, though.
-
(10) I like how it makes me feel fancy.
-
(11) I hate how everyone just HAS to stop you and give you their opinions on what you're wearing.
-
(12) I've got a couple of old EGL magazines but there's nothing really.
-
(13) Hats > Headdresses > KC > Bonnets
-
(14) Absolutely! No way I'm wearing a skirt without something underneath.
-
(15) At the back always. The ribbon tickles me collarbone uncomfortably otherwise.
-
(16) My favorite and right now is GraveYard Club. L'Evial en rosalie is fun. They're new and I want to support them! but Versailles, Malice Mizer/ Moi Dix Mois and Lariene are all good stand-bys ofc.
-
(17) You're Not Here - SH3 OST
-
(18) Yes, in lower key stuff or things I don't mind getting a bit mussed. It's a fun time to go all out and not get stared at.
-
(19) No, my wigs would fall off, but I do want to sometimes.
-
(20) Black of course! Reds and Cobalt/royal blue.Purple and green are making their way in.
- (21) I enjoy sewing, cooking,and video games.
-
(22) Soul Beautiful, which was released in 204 to accompany the movie the Book of Life. I also liked the original release of RagDoll, disney's nightmare before christmas Sally perfume.
-
(23) You have to be careful how you run or walk to not flash your bloomers or hit things off shelves. Also if you wear synthetic fabric it is SO easy to overheat.
-
(24) I usually dress nice to go to thrift shops. But I also like going out to cafes and fancy restaurants.
-
(25)A couple times a month. I stay at home a lot!
-
(26) I made a dress and wore it to school. Stars above, it looked so bad. I stopped wearing purple for years.
- (27) Black, short, and braided. I'm trying to grow it out, but life is hard.
- (28) I've been goth pretty much the whole time but I'm kind of interested in classic, just for variety.
-
(29) I have a separate closet. I might have to reorganize though. That closet is getting full.
-
(30) It's expensive and I could be spending this money on different hobbies that don't make me feel fat.
-
(31) Could be Worse!
-
(31) I would love to be a librarian. A library job is a perfect fit.
-
(33) I don't really care about celebrities so I don't think that about anyone.
-
(34)I really like my AP blouse. It was my first taste of how nice lolita could really feel. And it was a LP item, too! If it's a cast off and made me feel so pretty imagine the main pieces.
-
(35) It was a Putumayo Skirt with butterflies.
-
(36) It's always V fingers.
-
(37) So Pretty/Very Rotten
-
(38) 2cm for casual, up to 7 for formal.
-
(39) I can't really imagine wearing a tiara! Give me a hat any day,though.
-
(40) Dark Prince! Dark Prince! Elegant Bampire Romance!

(46) Nothing outdoes some quality eyeliner used well.
-
(47) I don't wear eyelashes. That's too dangerous for me, lol.
-
(48) A touch of eyeshadow and eye liner. It's all you need!
-
(49) Black and blue but never red!
-
(50) Black and lavender usually.
-
(51) No, but I have changed in bathrooms on my way to conventions, though.
-
(52) so cool! I wanna do it!
-
(53) Diet and excersize! Salads and treadmills and weightlifting. It sucks but gets results. I really need to get back to it.
-
(54) I keep my head up and act like I'm a Very important Person. People will tend to not be as awful if you act like you're supposed to be there and they're not.
-
(55) Averaging at thirty dollars.
-
(56) Years!
- (57) Currently, it is my Iron Gate 2024 OP.
-
(58) A little bit in the piggy bank every month! Buying second hand helps a lot!
-
(59) at least 2500 dollars. Not counting thrifted items or cleaning/mending costs. for almost five years, that's not bad.
-
(60) AP would get the most business where i live but I'd love to see a gothic or classic store.
-
(61) That ThriftShop line about 50 dollars for a tee-shirt? Yeah, 60 bucks for a cutsew? What a rip off! Also, Moitie I've heard bad things about your new accessories. Step it up!
-
(62) You can't always see quality or make sure there are no bad smells online but the variety of places and people you can get things from more than makes up for it. Just make sure you buy from reputable folks! SpreePicky, Wish and the cheaper parts of AliEpress are NOT reputable. Go to LaceMarket, ClosetChild, and Mercari if you're brave .
-
(63) No Way! No replicas for me. The shame would kill me. If gifted a replica I would neer wear it where others could see me, IF i wore it.
-
(64) Wolves. Please I need a werewolf print!
-
(65) Keep them or sell them. Selling for money puts it back in to the community and you get to go buy something else.
-
(66) Food, mostly. Latest big purchase was a replacement phone.
-
(67) I want the Elegy Insomnia OP. She's always closed!
-
(68) Folks that only wear lolita to concerts/cons are alright I guess. Not my concern.
- (69) Sometimes you just want to be casual. No concern here.
-
(70) Twin photos immediately!
-
(71) You stop when you want to stop! I admit it's unusual to see older girls in sweet lolita but classic and gothic will always welcome you!
-
(72) I'll graduate from lolita when my desire for aristo outshines my desire to feel cute.
-
(73) Don't say anything overtly sexual with outsiders! Try not to be a jerk.
-
(74) Elegant! What's cute is subjective but elegance, less so.
-
(75) Eat messy foods. Or You'll stain your dress.
-
(76) Brolitas are welcome!
-
(77) I act differently in lolita, yes. But I also changed my diet and habits to make myself more fitting of lolita. I was a huge mess daily before lolita and now I'm a little less messy. Improve myself to fit the clothes!
-
(78) Everyone seems to have gotten used to it.
-
(79) JSKs with sheer boleros/ light shirts and jackets. No blouse is hard to pull off but much more refreshing!~ Go for natural materials in your clothes. Wear light or absorbant layers if you don't have natural material dresses. Wear your deordeant! Get sweat guards if you need them. Stay hydrated and bring a parasol for shade.
-
(80) see 26
-
(81) Black jeans, black sweaters, band shirts and fishnets with stompy boots. Trad goth and goth casual. I want to do Gyaru once or twice but i can't deal with people thinking i'm some kind of schoolgirl fetishist.
-
(82) Nope!
-
(83) Who needs a boyfriend when you can have a dog?
-
(84) Sweet. Hairy. Understanding. (It's a dog)
-
(85) Kagome (RIP) was a beacon of beauty. Mana ofc also inspired me.
-
(86) see 26. But skirts aren't hard to make once you know what you're doing. I have one or two solid skirts for casual times. I hate making shirts, though. It sucks!
-
(87) Hair accessories are much easier than skirts and shirts. Plus earrings are een easier. I love my coffin clip on earrings!
-
(88) my coffin clip on earrings. Just a dab of glue on acrylic coffins. Subtle and fun.
-
(89) IDK there are just so many options!)
-
(90) No particular idol.
-
(91) N/A
-
(92) I don't really but if i had to, I'd open a bakery with pretty uniforms!
-
(93) neatly arranged vertical lines always draw my eye. (gothic arch, iron gate, etc.)
-
(94) If I had the time and money, probably. They'd be so cute!
-
(95) Most expensive outfit I could wear right now owuld be about $500.
-
(96) Chokers and Corsets. They're better for punk and gothic but they're lolita, too, guys! ( ;^;)
-
(97) Ero lolita. It seems fun.
-
(98) Sleek.
-
(99) Dignified but fun!
-
(100) It was super fun. It's also very much a product of its time, but entertaining and sweet!
I feel like much of the 'lolita lifestyle' isn't for me. It's very shallow and very materialistic when I generally do not think of myself that way. I enjoy pretty things, but try to watch for shallow behaviors outside of lolita. My first real subculture commitment, so to speak, was goth, which had plenty of space of DIY, shoddily made looks that were just as welcome. Goth is a music focused subculture, though, not a fashion oriented subculture. It's easy to be permissive when you don't care.
Other parts of the Liestyle Lolita playbook also don't work for me. Get togethers are not easily organized. Themed events are difficult to find. Activities that don't threaten your outfit are few and far between. The 'standard' ones are limited in scope. There are concerts, however. But that's the most active lolita events tend to become.
